Delightedly filming the blank monitor with his handheld camera, so it's showing what he's filming, which is the monitor itself, and on and on: "If I shoot the monitor, I should be able to recreate the Hindu Wheel of Life."

That sounds as if it might be funny—if I had any clue what the heck it meant. Like your blog a lot, BTW.I found a semicolon that should have a been a comma in the new New Yorker last night, but now I can’t remember which story for sure. Maybe the one on Mary.
